The Team at Jimmie’s Old Southern BBQ

A message from our founder, 'Famous Dave' Anderson...
RESTAURANTS ARE DESPERATELY NEEDING HELP!
As the founder of Famous Dave’s, Jimmie’s Old Southern BBQ Smokehouse, and Tamarack Farms Winery & Wood Fired Pizza... and speaking on behalf of all my restaurant owning friends this is an urgent call to action to support your local restaurants & local watering holes during this time of national crisis. As small business owners we are the life blood of our communities. We are the gathering places where good friends & family get together to break bread, socialize, and take a break from the hustles of life. Often restaurants are the first jobs available to our community’s youth. We have always been here for your celebrations, weddings, anniversaries, parties, family gatherings—doing all we can to make sure you enjoy our cooking utilizing the highest quality ingredients sourced from our farmers and we serve it up with the best cheerful smiles. And don’t forget how many times we have supported the local school’s team sports or other community organizations that have come to us to help with their fund raisers. In addition, we are big supporters of Operation BBQ Relief where when a community has been devastated by some horrific natural disaster we have always been there to feed the town, volunteers, the police force, and other disaster workers often providing the first hot meal in days to the survivors. Now us restaurant owners are dealing with the greatest devastating threat to our own survival we have ever experienced. This past week has incredibly difficult for us as we have had to layoff our valued hard working team members and we are scrambling to figure out how to pay our rents, bills, and taxes with virtually no money coming in. Sometimes I often hear folks say, “Wow it must be really cool to own a restaurant!” —and I think to myself, “You have no idea of the 80-100 hour weeks we often work and most of us never take vacations but we love what we do and we love making people happy with our cooking.” This is the life of a cook. This is the life of a restaurant owner. But we’re proud of being entrepreneurs. We have put everything we own at risk to run our restaurants. We don’t always succeed but we never give up. Now its our turn to ask for help. This latest virus crisis is not the only thing we are dealing with because for the last few years our whole restaurant industry has undergone massive changes as large restaurants are a dying breed and smaller quick service restaurants that specialize in only one type of food are the ones surviving. This crisis may be the last straw that breaks the camel’s back for many of us. Folks I am not embarrassed to say that
we are urgently pleading with you if at all possible to please support us by ordering Take-Out and by buying gift cards. I am also asking you to share my thoughts with all your friends because we really need your help these days. Just know we are grateful for your support and please stay healthy because we need you! You are in my prayers that the Good Lord has his protective hand over you and your family.
Blessings my friends…

For awhile now, people in Hudson have been telling me that I have to try Jimmie's. It's great BBQ, they tweeted me @ DeRushaEats. I thought: Jimmie's...what the heck is Jimmie's? Well, Jimmie's Old Southern BBQ Smokehouse is Dave Anderson's new barbecue concept. What a name, right?

8 smokin' hot barbecue spots to take Dad

Father's Day is coming up, and for many guys, there's no better way to celebrate than with a platter of smoky meat. Not to be too stereotypical, but dads are usually the ones who do the barbecuing. We give moms a day off, pampering them with breakfast in bed or a nice brunch out, so why not offer Dad the same courtesy?
